One of the fringe benefits of cleaning up your body (ie: ditching toxic ☠️ products) is pretty evident during the summer months. 🌞Sunburns and sun damage (tho they can still happen) usually become a less common occurrence.
Before I began cleaning up my diet, my skin care & personal care products, and our household cleaners and chemicals, it was not uncommon for me to get a decent sunburn a couple times a year. In college (years ago!), I got a few really memorable ones.😳
Sun exposure is super beneficial on many levels, not the least of which is its role in the body’s ability to synthesize Vitamin D. We should strive for daily exposure to the sun, not hide from it! Many people fear going out in the sun because they burn so very easily, and while melanin plays a part in whether or not you are prone to sunburn, the reality is that the risk of sunburn and sun damage rises the more “polluted” the inside of your body is. I’m a blonde haired blue eyed farm girl, and have lived this fact.
There is a second part of this equation tho.
🌞In addition to ditching toxins, seek out foods that are high in antioxidants (like blueberries, wolfberries, kale, dark chocolate, beans, and pecans). These help bind up the damaging free radicals from both toxins and excess sun exposure.
I love that NingXia Red is loaded with both wolfberries and blueberries! It is a daily staple in our home. ( item #3042 for the 2 bottle pack)
🌞You’ll also want to eat foods high in lycopene. Lycopene is an antioxidant AND it also absorbs both UVA and UVB radiation. Reach for watermelon, tomatoes, red bell peppers, asparagus, red cabbage, and mangos as often as you can!
🌞Omega-3 Fatty Acids come into play as well! Does that surprise you? They help maintain our skin’s integrity and aid in a proper inflammatory response. In other words, they help our body cope with a little too much time in the sun. Walnuts, salmon, cod liver oil, flax, hemp and chia seeds are all loaded with Omega-3’s.
I try to get a handful of walnuts in my diet daily, but I ALWAYS take my OmegaGize3 (item #3097)!
🌞Foods high in beta carotene are also important. Beta carotene converts to Vitamin A in our body, and committing to a diet rich in carrots, dark leafy greens, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, cantaloupe, apricots, and red bell peppers over time (10 weeks according to one study) provides natural sunscreen protection.
🌞Green Tea contains a flavanol known as EGCG
(epigallocatechin gallate) which has been found to help reduce skin damage from UVA light and also help support healthy collagen (the protein responsible for our skin’s elasticity).
Young Living’s organic Vanilla Lemongrass green Tea (item # 32205) is just as good iced as it is hot. ☕️ Organic tea (and coffee) is so very important because the traditional non-organic processing methods are loaded with ☠️toxins.
🌿Young Living does have an amazing sunscreen (SPF 50 item #24137) that is toxin free (most on the market are loaded with unhealthy ingredients)…. So this was a welcome addition in our home when it became available a few years back!
Enjoy that sunshine friends! 🌞It’s one of God’s ways of smiling on us and it’s an absolutely free health and wellness tool we all have access to.

I was in the post office earlier this week talking to a gentleman who was also picking up his mail. He was telling me of a relative of his who is a surgeon and had told him that oxygen depletion when masked is a real thing, and that the medical community has tried to find a way to enhance breathing while masked for quite some time. Thusfar, no one has been successful.
If you have chosen to wear a mask, or if you are required somewhere in your daily activity to wear a mask, please take your body's warnings to heart and allow yourself the time to breathe without a mask on. In addition to headache, fatigue, dehydration, and nausea, I've found that sleepiness is a big sign for me. I only wear a mask at work, but I need to be on my toes mentally whenever I've got my white coat on, so this remains a concern for me.
Remember, the best defense will always be a great offense.... use your Thieves hand sanitizer (item #3622 for a 3pak) when out and about (it is a super healthy immune boosting alternative to some of the other options out there), get plenty of sleep, make healthy eating choices, manage your stress, exercise regularly, and breathe deeply!
PS: Here is a link to a valuable document written by a doctor who has done her research. https://vaxxter.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Masks-Final.pdf
About 6 1/2 years ago, I ripped open the two oz NingXia Red packet that was in my YL Starter Kit and drank it. It was tasty, but I didn't yet understand the significance, or the science behind what I had just consumed (other than that it was mighty tasty! ☺️). It wasn't until I read the book you see in this picture, that I got a fuller understanding of just how much purpose was in that packet.
If you are a science nerd like me, this book will make your heart go pitter patter. (You can find it at www.DiscoverLSP.com)
I've heard soooooooo many personal stories about NingXia Red since I started drinking it myself. One of my health stories is this..... see those glasses on the table beside the book? They aren't for reading and they aren't for driving. I started wearing glasses when i was a Junior in college for nearsightedness.Well, the longer I drank NingXia Red consistently, the more my glasses started bothering me.... like my prescription was too strong. 😳 About 5 years ago, I went to my optometrist and had to get a weaker prescription. A couple years ago, I pretty much quit wearing glasses entirely.
I still carry them in my truck and do wear them if it is night time and I'm driving in an area I'm not familiar with.... but 99% of the time, I am glasses free. (The glasses you see on the table are blue blockers for protecting my eyes from the computer screen).
Can we talk science and genetics for a second? My family has a strong history of age related macular degeneration. My grandmother went blind from it and other older family members have it now. Protecting my eyes is high on my priority list.
Wolfberries are loaded with zeaxanthin and lutein, both of which have been shown to help support eye health in dramatic ways. Wolfberries are one of the main ingredients in NingXia Red.
A sweet friend of mine once said to me:
"You can pay the farmer 👩🌾 now, or you can pay the pharmacist 👩🔬 later."
Truer words could not be spoken.
Is NingXia Red worth it? Are my eyes worth it... not to mention my brain and heart health? Absolutely.
Everyone's NingXia Red story is different than anyone else's because we are uniquely made.....I'd love to hear your NingXia Red success story!
(If you'd like to try NingXia Red and do not currently have a Young Living membership, please message me!)
PS: see that little cardinal peering thru the window? I didn't notice him until I had taken the picture. Cardinals were my grandmother's favorite bird ❤️. I'd like to think she just gave her nod of approval to this message!
"People have failed to trust their own immune systems and common sense. We know the things that are most useful in assuring that our immune systems are able to operate with peak efficiency:
🍏 Healthy Diet
😴 Adequate Sleep
💪 Regular Exercise
🌞 Regular Exposure to the sun
Taking supplemental Vitamin D and Vitamin C (naturally sourced) and Zinc
Community (which includes worship and gathering together)
Reasonable hygiene (not excessively wiping everything down)"
~ Kelly Victory, MD
We have the tools my friends! Every single one of us has the tools above!
Thankfully, if you feel you have some catching up to do, or need some immune enhancements, Young Living has the bonus tools for your toolkit.
👉 NingXia Red
..... these are just a few that quickly come to mind.
Living a healthy life isn't an afterthought. The best time to start is right now!
(I'll post Dr. Victory's video in the comments so that perhaps it will be less likely to be removed by the FB narrative squad . )
5 years and 23 days ago I went into surgery thinking I was going to come out an amputee. Frankly, the fact that I was "only" going to lose my left foot was an emotional relief to me.... it could have been much much worse, and more important body parts could have been damaged if things had gone differently.
I know it may sound strange, but I was at peace with the future of a prosthetic (even before the actual complete removal of my foot had taken place). That may account for my literal disappointment when I woke up from surgery and saw my toes peeking out from a well bandaged lower leg...... I knew I was in for a rocky road ahead. Severed tendons, a broken bone, significant soft tissue and connective tissue damage (along with a statement from my surgeon that I'd probably walk with a limp for the rest of my life) did not give much hope for living pain free.
And yet... here I am 🙌🙌🙌.... 5 years and 23 days later.... doing all the things I did before my run in with the bull. Frankly, I'm even more active than I was. Farm chores 👩🌾 5K's, regular gym Boot Camp workouts 💪 (thank you Fit Body Boot camp), hiking up a glacier, teaching yoga.... ALL these things without pain or impaired flexibility.
Diet, exercise (motion is lotion!), focusing on increased flexibility, clean water intake, toxin free living....... all these are important in recovery and also pain and inflammation management.
The icing on the cake tho..... the special tools in the toolbox.... are these: Agilease or BLM + Sulfurzyme.
Because I had significant bone and ligament damage, I take BLM + Sulfurzyme daily.... every day..... 365 days a year.
I live my life pain free. Yup. Not a day with pain for this gal. 🙌🙌🙌
2 SULFURZYME TWICE A DAY.
1 BLM TWICE A DAY.
👆Game changers for my life 👆.... Because life is too short to spend it sitting on the bench (or on the porch)! 😉
Haven't tried these yet, and you're sitting on the sidelines? What are you waiting for? Life is short friends .... make the most of it!
With farm life, clean and white can be hard to come by! I was just visiting Christan Morales's team page and saw this recipe. I am so going to give this a try!
From Lindsay Tuttle:
Bleach is a household favorite, but it has so many disrupting chemicals in it that this is an amazing equivalent! A friend of mine shared this, and I made it a few months ago and added Thieves Household Cleaner to it!
I found my gallon jug at an antique store, but any glass jug will work.
3/4C Hydrogen Peroxide
1/4C Lemon Juice
15 drops Lemon Essential Oil
3/4C Baking Soda
1/4C Thieves Household Cleaner
Mix all ingredients in container. For laundry, use 1C per load. Also use in tubs and sinks as you would regular bleach!
Do y'all know Dr. Jim Bob Haggerton? Don't let his country accent fool ya😉, He's one of the smartest dudes I know, and he's a sweetheart to boot!
We all need more oxygen these days... Dr. Jim Bob gives us some great tips! Broccoli and Turmeric..... who knew!
I cannot count the number of times I reached out to YL corporate asking for a "stand alone" Vitamin D supplement in the last 6 years.... and I was beyond excited to see Super D as a brand new supplement introduced at convention this year! #theylistentoourrequests
Did you know that over 75% of teens and adults in the USA are Vitamin D deficient? It's such a sad thing.... especially given the role Vitamin D plays in our body (It has over 400 known roles!).
The role we are focusing the most on these days is supporting and enhancing the immune system. If your vitamin D levels are low, the odds of catching something goes up considerably. 😷 Raising your vitamin D levels will do far more to protect you or those around you than a #clothmask (which is actually more harmful than helpful if you have followed reputable research).
Super D! Add it to your Essential Rewards shopping basket and give your immune system some added love! 💗
🌞 Item #28972 / 120 tablets /$29.75 for YL Members

Having a YL membership gives you the tools you need to have greater control of your family's person health and wellness needs.
I would be honored to serve you as scout, guide, and navigator on a personal level if you're ready to take the plunge!

We all know that vitamin D is needed for a healthy immune system but do you know how it helps? We do not want certain cells hyped up and or active. If the body needs T cells for hand to hand combat make sure those T cells are mature!
I have had no desire to write or share for the last few weeks. 😥 The world 🌎 is going nuts and my reaction in a situation such as this is to retreat to the safety of the peace that is my immediate world. It’s a perfect time for that really….. garden 🌿 and berry 🍓 season being what it is. #farmgirllife
I do most of my writing early in the morning, when it’s quiet before dawn. Most mornings I dive into the word of God 📖before I do this tho…. My true quiet time.
I heard it said recently that “at first you read the Bible, but you’ll come to a point where the Bible instead begins to read you”. The last many months have definitely been a reflection of the later.
Yesterday's message was centered on healing and it was one small simple phrase:
💗“ Go up to Gilead and get balm” (Jer 46:11). 💗
I spent yesterday going about my chores and errands meditating on this simple piece of a verse.
Today begins our virtual Young Living Convention. We all wish it were in person as it always in in Utah, but CV19 took care of that for us. 😥 It’s a time of learning, fellowship, community, and celebration that about 40,000+ of us look forward to every year.... literally a family reunion atmosphere.
Meanwhile, cities around our country are burned and looted, and innocent people are killed, and people who are lacking the fruits of the spirit (love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control) are martyred and praised. What an upside down world we are living in.
💗“Go up to Gilead and get balm”. 💗
This little phrase packs so much meaning, especially now.
The “balm of Gilead” is an actual plant. It is known as one of the oldest and most respected herbal remedies……. Commiphora gildeadensis.
🌿It’s known to work beautifully as an anti-inflammatory. Lord knows our country could use a little less inflammation.
🌿It’s also excellent for burns, eczema, psoriasis, and blemishes. We’ve got some serious issues with burns and blemishes in our country….. The world is watching us fester.
🌿It’s an analgesic. The pain our country is going thru has affected every.single.person. We need a God sized aspirin please…. Stat.
🌿It’s a helpful diuretic. Wash us clean from this sin wracked world, oh Lord.
🌿It soothes the stomach and digestive tract. Did you just 💁♀️because your stomach has been in knots as we watched the destruction of man and property? #metoo
🌿It’s a powerful expectorant, helping purge mucus and phlegm, and relieving respiratory symptoms. A nod to the ‘rona perhaps? It is quite interesting that the antiviral Remdesivir (being tested against CV19) is manufactured by a company called Gilead Sciences. #whoa
But man will never be able to compete with God as the ultimate physician. Remdesivir can be quite hard on the liver…. the organ which coincidentally houses emotions of anger and bitterness.
🙏📖The Balm of Gilead is also representative of our salvation thru Christ. It is spiritual medicine…. able to heal all who believe in Jesus so that we may walk in that freedom and forgiveness.
Our country is blighted and sick..... in need of massive healing.
“Is there no balm in Gilead?” is a rhetorical question. The balm IS there and our Physician is there to administer it if only we ask for it.
Our God is one of light and love. Darkness, destruction, and evildoing is not of Him. We have free will to choose what we desire: illness or absolute health.
Hand me the balm please, 💁♀️ I think we need vats of it!
Philippians 4:8-9 "And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—, put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”
Peace, love, and balm,
Dr. Proctor is not some imaginary man. He's a long time local physician in our area. God bless him for speaking out and speaking truth. Ya'll, we need to be sharing these truths and uniting against the political machinery that is driving this planned herding of our country and world.
You are my amongst my heroes Dr. P! Thank you for speaking out in truth!😘🙏🇺🇸
Hey there....thanks for stopping by! This is me (Liz James)... an eclectic mixture of holistic (and organic) farmgirl meets pharmacist. It's a synergy that works well as I speak truths and dissect fact from fiction. If you're looking for healthier living options, you've come to the right place!
