One of the blessings of hanging out with mentors and Young Living community friends, is getting honest "been there"....done THAT anecdotal information. Those convos and personal stories have empowered me in ways that have rocked my health world. Don't ever turn down a chance to sit in on a "story swapping" session... sit down and soak up knowledge like a sponge..... you may come away with a life changing nugget for you or someone you love. #protip
Have you ever wondered..........
*Can you use essential oils where the sun doesn't shine? Absolutely! (caveat: I would only recommend using Young Living because of their purity... otherwise I change my answer to "all bets are off!")
*Do you need to dilute? Absolutely!
*Do you need to do your research on which oils would benefit (and which oils should be avoided!) the nether regions? Absolutely 100% YES!
This is a DIY'er recipe to hang on to..... you just never know when you might need to make some!.... and It sounds like it might be a good idea to keep some organic cocoa butter on hand.... you just never know when you might need it!
Btw, it takes a lot of chutzpah to own a website name like that😂💖!
PS: men.... if you haven't run for the hills and made it to the bottom of this post, you have nether regions too 😉 . #soakandlearn
Wow! Such an interesting 4 minute video and worth the listen. Dr. Michael Greger MD is a favorite of mine, and this is his video.
Topic?....... Improving cognitive performance using aromatherapy, 💖 especially in cases of neurodegenerative dis-ease.
I stepped back from corporate pharmacy and into the roots (& flowers 🌹, leaves🌿, and trees🌳 😉 ) of pharmacognosy because of information (like this) which remains largely unrecognized by mainstream medicine..... literal golden nuggets of self care.... which allow us improved quality of life, increased autonomy, and educated self care.
How many of you have seen a cognitively impaired patient who was so medicated that they were almost "zombi-fied"?
Roughly 50% of people with dementia experience behavioral or psychological symptoms that doctors often 'chemically restrain' by way of drugs that are often well known for their increased morbidity and mortality risks in the elderly.... not to mention dulling them cognitively even more. #riskvsbenefitfail
👆 Why?..... because it's easier to prescribe a drug than it is to offer non-pharmacological alternatives. To be fair, few western medicine health care workers are trained in aromatherapy, nor have they taken the time to learn on their own. #notfundedbyBigPharma
Final tidbit..... I don't want to spill all the beans here.... Dr. Greger speaks of Lemon Balm. Friends, that is also known as "Melissa"...... grown on our Young Living Farm in St. Marie's, Idaho.
Go. Learn. Apply your knowledge! Help a friend or loved one out and share what you know and may already have in your possession.
PS: This post does not constitute medical advice. Nor does it attempt to diagnose, treat, cure, or heal what's ailing ya!
You are the CEO of you.... never forget that!
Good morning friends! 2020 has given us an unexpected load of "bonus" toxins☠️ in the form of excessive disinfectant use. #ugh "They" are squirting, spraying, fogging, and wiping down surfaces (including our hands and our lungs!) in an effort to comply with recommendations given by governing entities, but at what cost long term?
In pharmacy, there is something called risk versus benefit. We are ALL being exposed to this risk (and it is risky.... unprecedentedly so!) as businesses and schools are now disinfecting sometimes even hourly during operating hours.
We are the ultimate CEO's of our bodies, and nobody is going to be there to pick up the pieces of this over exposure except for us.🙋♀️🙋🙋♂️If you'd like to begin making amends with your 2020 toxin load, I'd like to invite you to a class.....
☣️Detoxing the Disinfectants☣️
This class is available two ways:
Texting : Text "Lysol" to 469.425.9091
An online class on Monday November 9th at 6pm CST/ 7pm EST co-hosted by Kimber Elizabeth, Kristine Lucius, and myself. Please message one of us if you are interested in attending the online Facebook class!
OK, now that October is over, I'm willing to move into the Christmas mindset! I have holiday boundaries, dont'cha know? 😉
The Young Living Christmas catalog will re-open for business on the 9th of November. Have you taken the time to flip thru the catalog virtually? It reminds me of those old days (think 1970's) when I got all giddy going thru the Sears and Roebucks Christmas catalog that came out every year about this time. 😍 #makingalistandcheckingittwice
The YL catalog is beautiful (as it is every year!), but I'm especially delighted to see the focus is largely on helping so many thru partnerships we have within the nonprofit Young Living Foundation. #purposedriven
Grab a cuppa ☕️ and enjoy!
Let me preface this post by saying it's never a good idea to get your hand in the way of a sharp object! That said, life happens.
One of the reasons I embraced YL 7 years ago was this: preparedness. We live on a farm, and minor accidents are not an uncommon thing. I've gotten really good at triaging what "we can fix ourselves" and what needs bigger attention by professionals who stitch for a living.
I've heard it said that "your oils are expensive ". True. They can be pricey, but quality products generally are. Let's compare pricing here:
(We have a high deductible to meet, so all expenses would have been out of pocket)
💰A trip to the ER for a stitch up while company was in from out of town (time)
💰A covid test (personally not a fan of this)
💰Time waiting in the emergency room with a bunch of other people who might actually be sick.
💰💰stitches (according to this article, on insurance, it's 500$ per stitch https://www.advisory.com/.../why-does-a-hospital-stitch... )
💰Avoiding a conversation as to what recommended toxins I should be adding to my body for the next 10 days. (priceless)
💰💰💰💰💰💰= roughly 1000$ or more (based on the link above, with insurance it probably would have been about 5 stitches)
👀 Taking a look at my wound and recognizing that it was stitch worthy but relatively superficial.
* Applying the practical knowledge gleaned from reading and listening to others in our Young Living community. #PricelessEducation
*Having the tools on hand and having confidence in them. (Add Thieves foaming hand soap and Inner Defense to the list here)
💰 I estimate that I spent about 100$ on Plan B. 🙌🙏💗 #winnerwinner
Economics. Are our oils worth it? You betcha!
Have a blessed Tuesday!

This past weekend, I co-hosted our 3rd annual Guns 'n Poses (yoga, health and wellness topics, and firearms instruction) event for our YL family. #memberperks Personal self care empowerment comes in many forms and it is something I deeply truly love about the Young Living lifestyle.....thru the application of what we learn from one another, we become more adept at being our own CEO of the temple that is our body.
My teaching topic for the event was frequency and how it relates to fear and how to raise your own frequency should you find it faltering. Fear is one of the lowest frequency emotions.
Here are a few tidbits to chew on:
⚡️ Frequency is a term that measures electricity. It's not hoo hoo stuff... it's physics and biology. If you've ever had an EEG or EKG the frequency of your heart or brain has been measured.
⚡️ Certain emotions drive the body's frequency up or down. High frequency emotions are Joy, Freedom, Love, Empowerment, Happiness, Enthusiasm (and many more). 😃
Low frequency emotions include worry, frustration, doubt, anger, guilt, and others....... including fear. 😱Fear (chronic or acute) is one of the most damaging of all emotions..... especially the chronic variety.
⚡️ Chronic fear is incredibly stressful to the body, and has been found to be equivalent to a pack of cigarettes a day habit.... not a place any of us wants our body to be in. Chronic fear is also quite hard on the immune system.
The Bible says.... over 365 times.... "fear not." We are to have a spirit of power, of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Tim 1:7) This is not simply a suggestion, it's also a health tip. 😉 We need to strive to live within the higher frequency emotions and feelings so that we may retain a sound and strong mind and body.
Lord knows this is something we need to be sharing far and wide right now! #2020hasbeenahotmess
Quick tips on raising your body's frequency:
⚡️ Work on getting your body more alkaline. (Fear and an acidic body tend to go hand in hand). Low voltage/frequency = low pH
Have you tried Alkalime (YL item #3199) ? It works to settle the belly, but it also gently raises the body's pH.
⚡️ Positive thoughts drive positive emotions. Be kind, especially to yourself. We often tend to be our own worst critic. Words are powerful. Speak to yourself in love. Look into podcasts by Dr. Caroline Leaf if this is a struggle.
⚡️ Exercise! Grab your bottle of Motivation essential oil and use it if exercise is hard for you. The more you do it, the easier it will become. (promise!!)
⚡️ Ditch processed foods and focus on eating foods that have a positive electrical charge... Living whole foods!
⚡️ Make sure you are continuing to remove toxins from your lifestyle. Toxins are frequency zappers! We all have access to the cleanest products on the planet in the way of Thieves Household cleaner, our YL body and skin care products.... not to mention our Savvy Minerals (standard cosmetics are LOADED with toxins).
⚡️ Make sure you spend a little time in nature every single day, and disconnect when you are doing so (disconnect regularly even if you cannot get outside) ! (Leave your phone or laptop indoors while you enjoy the gifts God gave us). Electrically speaking, this is called "grounding".
⚡️ High frequency oils are also very very helpful. Idaho Blue Spruce, Sacred Mountain, Rose, Joy, Forgiveness, Frankincense, Gentle Baby and Helichrysum are all in the higher frequency list. Apply topically or diffuse. Diffusing any of these may be helpful in group situations too. (I call this my stealth happiness tool in group settings)
We are blessed to have all these tools available, making ourselves and our sphere of influence a less stressful, fear reduced environment.
What's your "go to" in times of high stress or fear? I utilize all of the above depending on the situation, but my "go to" oils are Stress Away, Sacred Mountain, and Frankincense.
If you guessed all three, you’d actually be right! (I’ve seen more than a few of the “bird beak” masks on people this fine 2020 year).
What was the reasoning behind this garb that dates back to the 1600’s? The first time I saw this outfit, I imagined it would have been so frightening to people who encountered a person wearing this get up. Creepy, isn’t it?
People work with what they have available to them… then and now.
These "uniforms" were worn for centuries by medical professionals. In the 1630’s this garb was first designed by the chief physician to several French kings as a way to keep health workers safe from disease.
It consisted of:
👉a heavy black oilcloth overcoat. Oilcloth is used because it does not absorb moisture (or in this case, body fluids).
👉Leather gloves (no latex gloves back in the day!)
👉Circular glass or crystals to seal the eyes behind the mask
👉A wand or long stick - to inspect the (perhaps unconscious) patient from a distance.
👉 A mask with a “beak”. The conical beak, stuffed with dried herbs, was dual purpose. It kept the physician from smelling the worst of the worst smells, and there was circumstantial evidence that the herbs actually may have aided in immune support and therefore provided protection to the physician. (Back then, they knew next to nothing about the immune system, but they did study 'cause and effect' quite closely).
Fable and anecdotal history has it that glove makers, perfumers, and those living in port cities with a high volume of spice trade were among the healthier population during plague years. Is it true? I don’t know for sure. What I can say tho, is that there are thousands upon thousands of 21st century studies (pubmed.gov) that give real credence to what herbs and pure essential oils can do to support the immune system and create inhospitable environments for all kinds of miasmas. The research is solid. #pubmedismyBFF
Interestingly, we are quick to make light of this birdman costume …. How could anyone imagine it would protect a person?
And yet, despite the very clear “WARNING” on our 2020 common disposable “ear loop” mask box, people continue to rely on a simple mask for protection against the unknown without looking at actual science (or even the evidence) that 70% of those who have tested positive for the ‘rona are consummate mask wearers.
Good morning friends! Yesterday as I was driving home, I passed a large section of what I thought was ragweed. I stopped, hopped out, and snapped a pic..... (planning on writing about allergies). I Googled ragweed and lo and behold, I'm fairly certain what I had snapped a pic of was our highly esteemed Goldenrod!
This got me to thinking... and I messaged my friend Danette. Neither of us was 100% certain it was even tho it definitely looks like it. 😂 #weareamateurbotanists
This little scenario made me value Young Living and all of their science and attention to detail even more so..... I mean, who wants to guess on a plant like this? It could mean the difference between effectiveness or a bad rash 😳. #wherethesundoesntshine
I also love how God gave us plants that have healing powers often just in the season that we may need it.
Most of us YL'ers know Goldenrod as that magical bedroom oil💖☝️....
.....But it's so much more than that! #alloilsaremultipurpose
Just a few other uses....
🌾seasonal respiratory support👈🙏🍂
🌾helps loosen mucus (drink more water too!)
🌾acts as a tonic to nourish and support kidneys and urinary tract #valuable
🌾supports healthy liver function
🌾creates an inhospitable environment for fungus
🌾supports a proper inflammatory response #greatforjoints!
All this to say.... don't leave Goldenrod in the bedroom! God blessed Gary with the know how and the willing spirit to share with all of us. It's up to us to maximize the potential of all our gorgeous and healing oils!
(☝️your pure Goldenrod depot)
The application of knowledge is power... and it can save you a ton of money and time too.
Had a little boo boo this weekend that ranked on the "stitchable" list.
Anyone could do what I did... assess the situation and then either apply self care, or head to the professionals.
In this case, self care was the definite answer because I had the tools available and no body parts were dangling 😂 #beentheredonethat
Girl scouts used to teach good first aid skills... do they still do that? This is stuff every person should know.... because life happens.
Here is my M.O. in such events:
1. Assess the situation
2. Clean up the wound #wehavetheantibacterialsoapforthat
3. Stop the bleeding #wehaveoilsforthat
4. Apply the nifty bandage #easytobuyandkeeponhand
5. Take extra immune supportive measure (internally and externally for the next 10 days)
I trust my tools I have on hand.... that's half the battle. Poor quality tools will not be your friend. (The other half is not being squeamish about a little blood!)
Do you have what you need to manage life's little boo boo's?
Our YL tribe teaches each other skills (like these) that used to be handed down generation to generation. We are the keepers of our selves, and it is a blessing to have what you need on hand and know how to use it!
If 2020 has shown us nothing else, it's that we need to be prepared to care for our selves and our family (and pets!) as much as possible.
Come be a part of my tribe! We share info freely at the table!
Once again, I am grateful for Thieves Household Cleaner. I had a little accident this weekend and dried blood used to be one of those hard to treat stains on laundry day. #notanymore
Cynda Western Felini had given me this t-shirt, and it's one of my faves.... so I said a little prayer before dousing it with THHC, letting it sit for about 5 min, and then throwing it in the wash!
Hey there....thanks for stopping by! This is me (Liz James)... an eclectic mixture of holistic (and organic) farmgirl meets pharmacist. It's a synergy that works well as I speak truths and dissect fact from fiction. If you're looking for healthier living options, you've come to the right place!
